Two for Tuesday

Goodbye, Monday and hello, two for Tuesday!  I had a mammogram scheduled for this morning and would you believe it if I told you that the tech/hospital was giving away goodie bags after every scan?!  Even better - make up goodie bags!  I got a sample of Celine Dion's perfume "Spring in Paris" and a couple of Avon products - big color lip pencil in Pink Persuasion and precision glimmer powder eye shadow in sunshine.  I tried out the lip pencil and I love it.  I'll try the eye shadow but I think it may be a little bit too gold for my taste.  So that's what I call a Two for Tuesday.  I got a preventive health screening to take care of myself AND was rewarded with make up.

It gets better.  When I got home I received my sample beauty bag I requested from Target a few weeks ago.  The samples are in a cute Sonia Kashuk make up bag.  In it I received a travel size Pantene shampoo for fine hair (that's me), Nivea express hydration lotion, Neutrogena Naturals lip balm, Fekkai Shea Butter shampoo & conditioner packets, a card sample of Revlon colorbust lip gloss in hot pink and a booklet with lots of Target beauty coupons!!!

The Meaning of Pudgebutters

I hate to admit that blogging on a regular basis isn't as manageable as I had hoped.  I set up this blog with good intentions & then had a couple of bad weeks at work which resulted in no desire to sit in front of the computer once I got home.  However, that hasn't slowed me down on Twitter too much.  That brings me to this post - I've received some tweets asking what is a pudgebutters.  It's so simple to explain.  It's a nickname for my plump kitties!  It's just a word that I made up one day & I'm not even sure how it popped into my head but it did and sounded funny so I kept it. So there you go - the meaning of pudgebutters.  What are some funny made up names you've had for your pets?

1st official blog post

I admit I'm about 6 months behind schedule.  That's how long I've been planning to start this blog.  The purpose is for sharing with you the things that make my life happy.  Everybody's got to have a platform, right?  I am a firm believer in the "Spay & Neuter - Save a Life" campaign.  I technically have 2 kitties that are mine.  However, there are a few others (ok, I admit it, there are 5) who have adopted me as their caregiver.  Which is fine & I took the responsibility to have everyone fixed & vaccinated so I've done my part to help out the neighborhood pet population.

When I'm not spending money on the furballs, I love to go shopping!!!  I love a good deal but I love it even better when the pants I try on fit like they were custom made for me.  And fashion shopping isn't just about clothes, I love the make-up too!  Thank goodness we live in an era of Sephora & Ulta stores so we are not relegated to cosmetic sampling from those hauty sales people at the beauty counters in our favorite department stores.

When I'm at home you better believe some part of my day is spent in front of the television.  Growing up in the country we did not have cable television (travesty)!  So it seems I'm spending the better part of my adult years catching up on the 18 years I was stuck with the 3 broadcast networks that didn't specialize in anything fun for kids anyway.  Yeah, my tv memories are of  me watching the Love Boat with my grandmother.  But I'm not complaining, it's a good memory!

I hope with this blog I'm able to connect with others who share the same interests and trade some funny stories.  Enjoy!
